Why Mrs. LookingGood?
My last name is almost similar to looking good that’s why I decided to use it. I think it aligns better to what I want to accomplish in this blog. Which is for all of us to look good, inside and out! My inner motivation is to celebrate my life as a daughter, wife, mom and friend to the fullest. And that translates to how I interact with people and how I dress myself too!
My closet is 90% thrifted. I want to look good and be presentable but I don’t want to blow my family’s budget on clothes. I also feel that I start the day right and can conquer more goals if I take care of what I wear. It uplifts my spirit, makes me happier and more willing to give and share.
I used to work in IT and spent more than a decade working for IBM and Microsoft. Eventually family life takes precedence and I was a stay-at-home mom for several years. The budget has shrunk, there are more mouths to feed and clothing eventually dropped its way down to the bottom of the priority totem pole. It used to be way up there when I was single!
My fashion choices (and budget) have changed but it doesn’t give me an excuse to be shabby and sloppy! Since becoming budget-conscious, most of what I wear are thrifted, consigned or purchased at a great deal. I want to be a mom who looks good without breaking the bank.
I know we can all look fantastic as a frugal fashionista. I hope to inspire others (moms and single women) to think that life is too short to wear jogging pants and sneakers every day! Unleash. The. Bling!
