Best way to visit Apple Hill is on a weekday, hands down! I remember going to the apple orchards last year and it was near Halloween and Highway 50 was a mess.
My friend and occasional running buddy (she’s way too fast like a Kenyan!) and I planned a trip to several orchards today with our sons. We had such a blast picking our own apples and going through a portion of the nature trail that connects one orchard to the next. Our sons enjoyed the petting farm and did the corn maze three times!! No wonder we were famished! Most orchards offer lunch and I just couldn’t say no to a tri-tip sandwich! We couldn’t resist eating some apple pie, turnover and donuts as well.
The fun did not end after lunch, we still visited a Pumpkin Patch, bought several pumpkins and let our kids have fun with those old school radio flyer wagons. And of course we didn’t leave without buying those yummy pies for our hubbies when we prepare for dinner tonight.
Here’s a list of the Apple Orchards we visited:
- Bolster’s Hill Top Ranch: free apple cider tasting, apple picking, nature trail that connects to Apple Ridge Farm and other orchards
- Apple Ridge Farm: heaven for kids and mamas! Petting Farm, Pumpkin Patch, Maze, Apple Pies/Turnovers/Donuts/BBQ!!!
- O’Halloran’s Apple Trail Ranch: HUUUGE Pumpkin Patch!
- Bodhaine Ranch: Yummy Applie Pies
Before leaving, I was trying to take an OOTD photo but my son is having none of it! Have fun with the photos below!
Any plans to visit a Pumpkin Patch soon?
