Last month, my husband and I celebrated our two year wedding anniversary. We were shortlisting places where to have a nice dinner in Sacramento but had an A-HA moment and decided to go back to where our wedding took place.
In April of 2012, we got married at the beautiful Gold Hill Vineyard in Placerville. We knew that they have a tasting room at the lower level of their winery so it would be a great opportunity to relive the moment and have some fine vino.
We also checked out the nearby vineyard of David Girard, hung out for more tastings and then proceeded to Coloma which is a very short drive. We walked along the American River where James Marshall discovered gold and then capped the day off with a nice dinner at the historic Sierra Nevada House.
It’s a great thing that I read The Rich Life on a Budget’s post on What to Wear Wine Tasting because I would have dressed differently had I not read it! It’s going to be a special day for Scott and I and we hired a sitter for that but I changed my mind on my attire.
I initially wanted to wear a dress but I knew there’s a possibility of going to several places and maybe do some walking around the wineries. Because of this, I opted for clothes that are more comfortable.
It was only one of those perfect days where the weather cooperated and it was not too cold nor too hot. Spring was in the effect so I wanted to wear something floral or colorful. I made sure my shoes would not kill me if I walk more than 5 minutes and brought a light blazer just in case got chilly.
